Out with the old…. In with the new.

15/11/2009

Just wanted to check in for those that have been keeping up with my adventures. Reflecting on this year has been a eye opening experience. I have learned so many things about myself and my tool box has been filling up. Its no longer just a hammer. From traveling with dear friends and moving forward with my photography, I have met many wonderful people and am looking forward to showing you whats next in my world. Amazing things are happening.. and I am very excited to walk this new path of self discovery.

First thing though.. expect a full overhaul to this site and my image. Things have changed so much for me that I feel its time to just let go and breathe in the new life of my work. I have been slowly adding new pieces to this site for you, but when the new site launches.. there will be much more to feast upon. Really looking forward to working with more creative people and making new friends as 2009 comes to an end. Time to ride out the remaining days of the year and wait at the front lines to attack what’s next.

Stay Tuned….. things are about to go BOOM!

A chance to chat with inspiration

13/04/2009

As an inspiring photographer who is constantly on the hunt for provocative marketing techniques and imagery that is banned in the US for being to explicit i discovered a man who is taking publicity to a new level. His work can be seen on billboards from Hollywood to Germany, some of his posters are deemed to graphic for our American tastes but the best thing for me about his work, is the buzz it creates. I’m talking about Tim Palen and his unforgettable imagery for such movies as the Saw campaign, Hostel 1 & 2, High Tension, and the infamous Blood Drive.
Tim is an inspiration for me, being the lover of the horror genre, he creates controversy with his images that constantly is pushing the marketing techniques to grab the viewer take them by the throat and make them gasp for air. I had the opportunity a while ago to chat with him. You can see the article at Bloody-Disgusting.com here:

You can also take a look at some of Tims memorable images here:

It was a pleasure to speak with Tim. He’s such a delight.. I hope some day we can possibly work together. Until then.. I will be diligently working to push my ideas up to his level. If you have the chance check out his recent book entitled GUTS

Cheers Tim! Can’t see what you come up with next!

Last year I had the chance to work with Tim Sullivan, director of 2001 Maniacs, Detriot Rock City to work on something a bit closer to home with one of his lead actors from Driftwood. Conner Ross, Tim and myself got together to recreate the Psycho shower scene and create some images for Driftwood. OhLaLa magazine has put up the interview with Conner Ross! Hope you enjoy!
