Yo Ho Ho and a bowl of Haggis?
29/06/2008**UPDATE** the location changed for filming! i will now be in London starting October 3rd.. until? Well frankly until I decide to come home..
SO here we are, as summer kicks off yet another Fourth of July in the city of the Worlds Oldest Rodeo (literally, this place goes crazy… i think this year marks 120years)

even Coca~Cola made a bottle for it!

I can’t help but wonder how long I am going to be living back in the desert. Most of you know by now, I have moved back to my old place in Arizona. Things just got a bit to hairy in LA so I skirted out. It was not an easy decision for me to make to come back here. I made a promise to myself that I would not be like the rest of the people who I used to laugh at when they said “.. I ain’t ever coming back!” .. but eventually it seems we all come back. So, I’m back after almost 4 years. Let me tell you… (cue NIN Everyday is exactly the same track) feel like the movie Groundhog Day doesn’t hold a candle to this place. EVERYTHING IS THE SAME ! I feel like I have never left. I am back bartending (though not making the money I was hoping for)the same people are doing the same stuff. Don’t they get bored of this place? I often wonder how far most of them have been out the state.. country? Anyway, this place is like some sort of weird time warp that sucks you in only to be consumed by sex, drugs …. country music? (please choke me now) Don’t get me wrong.. I do like some old country twang, but the rednecks can get a little scary now and again.
This move does not come with out fortune though. After I thought about it and finally made my decision to leave LA, it was like fate took over. By decision of leaving, it afforded me to land a huge job! By HUGE I mean, getting to:
a. work on a feature film….. IN SCOTLAND **** pinch me am i dreaming?*** and I got my blimp

b. the film is based off of one of Clive Barkers short stories in Books of Blood. Can you guess which one?

c. I’m getting paid!
FINALLY… for fucks sake! Something I went to school for is actually coming true~ I get to take pictures, travel, finally just do what I love to do. (I am very greatful for the friends I have that have made this possible. With out them.. I’m not sure if this dream would come true like this.)
So are you getting all this.. lets recap: I’m going to Scotland to work on a film with Clive Barkers name attached.. HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!
So being back here in Prescott may seem lame at the moment? BUT.. there are great things around the corner that have the potential to change my life forever. Just the experience alone is all worth it. I’m heading out of here either the 1st or 2nd week of August. And as if that is not enough.. I am working very hard on extending my holiday to travel a bit. I’m hoping to do some photography of my own while abroad. I have make up artists, models waiting in the wings to meet me in London and Dublin. Truly it just blows my mind.
It’s been a real trip being home. You can get a redbull here for 2 bucks, and beers for even cheaper. This whole town lives in the slow lane, there are no advance screenings of films (unless it’s something like Star Wars, and even that is just a midnight screening) and the shopping is horrendous. Still, through all its bad.. there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The light that I am not staying here forever, Scotland’s coming up and I am networking now with people in the PHX area. I also have some mind blowing shoots coming up! Images that you have not seen from me before so look forward to those. Last but not least, I also have to acknowledge the support I have here. Family and friends have been great, and even though Prescott gets on my nerves, I have to admit I don’t exactly hate the idea of being able to go out with great company and not spending a million dollars on drinks, parking and gas.
**Side note** New pics up at: www.myspace.com/paulaburrphotography, my Killereye.com is under construction so check it out! Leave comments, I love feedback. Besides they are something new I tried out, so I would love to know what you think.
Guess that concludes this blog for now. Thanks for reading if you made it this far, I appreciate you taking time to check me out.
